Pitha – Payesh Utsav Celebrated at Banarhat High School Today

Webdesk, TNI Banarhat, 21st January 2016: Today in the afternoon Banarhat High School celebrated the Pithe-Puli Utsav like the year before at their school premises. Along with it, a cafeteria for the mid-day meal for the students built by the help of Dhupguri Panchayat Samity was also inaugurated. In the program, the main invitees were the MLA of Dhupguri Smt. Mitali Roy and the BDO of Dhupguri Block Mr. Dipankar Roy. The Head Master of Banarhat High School Mr. Sukalyan Bhattacharya said that the school is situated at the heart of the Tea Belt of Dooars, the students of this school are not having the luxury of having Pitha (Boiler) and Payesh (Rice Pudding) in their house due to their economic condition. The school management feels great to serve this pitha and payesh to those students during this time replacing the routine Dal and Khichuri (Kedgeree). The MLA Smt. Mitali Roy and the BDO praised such an innovative move by the school management.
